At Watery Mountain Essentials we care about people, animals, and the planet.
This is the last in a three-part series on our company values.
Watery Mountain isn’t just our name, it’s where we live. We burn the wood from our property in our woodstoves for heat, our water come from an on-site well, and everything that goes down our drains ends up in our septic tank and, eventually, our water supply. Every year we plant a huge, organic garden and preserve much of our harvest to use over the winter. This isn’t an off-the-grid homestead – we have electricity, satellite tv, and wifi, and the nearest McDonalds is less than 4 miles away. Still, we feel a responsibility to be good stewards of our ten acres of the planet. That includes careful consideration of the products we buy for our own use and those we make to share with our extended family, friends, and customers.
Our bar soaps provide a great example of this commitment. The oils, like coconut oil and safflower oil, come from sustainable sources. The palm oil is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), which ensures that every step of the supply chain meets their environmental and social criteria. You can learn more at https://rspo.org/ All of the raw materials in our soap are non-GMO and biodegradable. The result is high-quality, long-lasting soap you can feel good about using.
Here on Watery Mountain, we live our values every day. We truly do care about people, animals, and the planet. We hope that you care about the same things and will appreciate the care and thought that goes into developing products that reflect these principles.
